ZHOU TAO, “Chicken speak to duck, pig speak to dog“, 2005 (dvd 2/2)

This video was partly realized in the countryside, cooperatively with several suburban peasants, all of whom share one common feature: they all have raised poultry and are good at poultry voice mimicking. I invited them to the city to show their voice mimicking in park-like green areas. Through the generated experience of the perception of domestic animals such as poultry, this work tries to reflect upon the strange changes in the distance between Chinese urban and rural areas.
