Nine year old boy abandoned for two years in unheated flat

A nine-year-old boy was abandoned by his mother for two years in an unheated flat in a village in southwest France. The boy was left in 2020 in the village of Nersac, close to the city of Angoulême. He survived by scrounging food from neighbours and still attended school with teachers not noticing because he was “a good pupil“. His mother, who was found to be living with a new boyfriend three miles away, was convicted and sentenced to six months in prison.
