Visit Visit our website This 1970s PSA-style short film titled ”Safety Facts About Crossing Tracks” combines b-roll footage and stop-motion photography to display the most common types of accidents and driving errors at rail crossings and how to avoid these errors. The film was produced by the Southern Pacific Safety Department in cooperation with The Railroad Brotherhoods, The National Safety Council, and the Association of Western Railways. Throughout the film, b-roll footage of various trains from the Southern Pacific, Western pacific, Union Pacific, and Santa Fe train lines are combined with stop-motion photography of miniature dioramas made by Steve Edwards Jr. The story was written by and the film photographed by E.L.
