Gagarin Park in Simferopol is a huge green zone in the center of the city. Gagarinsky Park is considered the main resting place not only in Simferopol, but also the largest in the Crimea. The area of the park is 50 hectares. Gagarinsky Park is called the “lungs“ of Simferopol. According to the city legend, the park was built because of the whim of a high-ranking official from Moscow who, in Simferopol, asked the host to show him the main place of rest for the townspeople. The park he categorically did not like, and to somehow get out of an embarrassing situation, the officials of Simferopol told the guest that they were going to break a new park. He promised to come in a couple of years and check their promise. It is not known whether the Muscovite came to the city again, but a new recreation area appeared. Its name was Gagarin Park in the main fashion of the 60s. - to name everything in honor of the first cosmonaut.
