Devils & Angels, Ritual Feasts in Europe

For my photo book, -exhibition and short films Devils and Angels, Ritual Feasts in Europe I’ve been searching for ritual feasts in Europe. In the past ten years, I visited numerous feasts in 15 European countries to be recorded on photograph and film. ’Devils and Angels’ is about Europe but goes beyond the politics of Brussels. It brings together stories and shows the individual uniqueness and surprising similarities in the cultures of the growing Europe. The focal point is the immaterial cultural heritage of Europe, where local culture and tradition remain visible. The exhibition is shown in several countries such as Netherlands, Poland (Fotofestiwal), Australia (Head On) and more. Book is published by Lecturis designed by Teun van der Heijden.
