“Сказание о Мамаевом побоище”, литературное произведение XV в. об исторических событиях Куликовской битвы. В “Сказании” повествуется о небесных видениях, предвещавших победу русского народа. Приводится множество интересных подробностей этого героического времени: о посольстве Захария Тютчева к Мамаю, путях следования русских войск из Москвы в Коломну, смотре войск на Девичьем поле, посещении Димитрием Донским Свято-Троицкого монастыря и благословении на битву, данном ему св. Сергием, послании св. Сергия кн. Димитрию на поле Куликово, ночной разведке (“испытание примет”) Димитрия Донского и Боб-рока-Волынца, начале битвы — поединке инока-богатыря Пересвета с татарским бойцом, обмене одеждой и конем кн. Димитрия с боярином Бренком и героической гибели последнего под черным княжеским знаменем, поиски св. Димитрия Донского на поле битвы после ее завершения: нашли князя под иссеченной березой “уязвлена вельми”. Настоящее издание повести “Сказание о Мамаевом побоище“ предполагает познакомить широкие круги читателей, любителей древнерусской книги с одним из памятников Куликовского цикла, отражающего борьбу русского народа за свою национальную независимость, - событиями Куликовской битвы 1380 года. Фридмана The legend of the Mamaev Massacre “The Legend of the Mamayev Massacre“, a literary work of the XV century about the historical events of the Battle of Kulikovo. The “Legend” tells about heavenly visions that foreshadowed the victory of the Russian people. Many interesting details of this heroic time are given: about the embassy of Zachary Tyutchev to Mamai, the routes of the Russian troops from Moscow to Kolomna, the review of the troops on the Maiden Field, the visit of Dimitri Donskoy to the Holy Trinity Monastery and the blessing for the battle given to him by St. St. Sergius, the epistle of St. Sergius book. Dimitri on the Kulikovo field, the night reconnaissance (“the test will take”) of Dimitri Donskoy and Bob-rock-Volynets, the beginning of the battle — the duel of the monk-hero Peresvet with the Tatar fighter, the exchange of clothes and a horse of the prince. Dimitri with the boyar Brenk and the heroic death of the latter under the black princely banner, the search for St. Dimitri Donskoy on the battlefield after its completion: they found the prince under the excised birch tree “wounded Velmi“. The present edition of the story “The Tale of the Mamayev Massacre“ suggests introducing a wide circle of readers, lovers of the Old Russian book with one of the monuments of the Kulikovo cycle, reflecting the struggle of the Russian people for their national independence - the events of the Battle of Kulikovo in 1380. The publication is provided with a historical introduction, a paleographic description of the manuscript, miniatures, as well as annotations to them. The publication is in Russian and English.
