A Young Man’s Funeral “Curse“ (LP “Thanatic Unlife“, Fono-2013)

The first track - “CURSE“ is a true story about a small Ural town, which was founded at the place of an ancient settlement, where gold deposits were disclosed. Soon cooper mining was started there as well and the copper smelter was built. After several decades of mining and smelting, the town turned to be a place of ecocatastrophe. After a hundred years of permanent processing without any treatment facilities, a huge area was burnt down and covered with slag. Thousands tones of waste remains after ore processing and (they) are dumped around the factory. Heaps of worked-over rock rise to hundred meters high. And even today the mining complex is still emitting dozens of tones of toxic gas. Lead, sulfur, arsenic and cooper waste falls down to the adjacent territory in the form of acid rains which destroy flora around.
