Classic TV Theme: The Rat Patrol (Dominic Frontiere)

’The Rat Patrol’ ran for two seasons, but was considered controversial in its portrayal of Americans fighting battles that British Commonwealth soldiers actually waged. That hurt its popularity overseas but in the states it was Napoleon Solo and Laugh-In that were the problem. Impressive location shooting (for a while it was filmed in Spain) and a rousing score by Dominic Frontiere helped but 30-minute dramas in general were on their way out. We include two sets of opening titles; one includes sound effects. Not too long after ’The Rat Patrol’ ended, Hans Gudegast changed his name to the more marketable Eric Braeden.
