GOALKEEPER TRAINING | NEWPORT COUNTY | CROSSES INSIDE TRAINING

Inside goalkeeper training session cutdown with Newport FC GK coach James Hollman. Goalkeepers featuring in the video are 1st team Joe Day & Nick Townsend & Academy Evan Ovendale. This session shows a cutdown of a crosses related goalkeeper training session working on foot placements, take off, assessment, handling. Starting with non contact thrown delivery building in to the goal with contact delivered crosses and footwork to reposition in the goal. The early part of the session includes a high ball warm up and activation session including handling. And the second part is a music montage showing the goalkeepers working in the goal, in terms of insight recognise the variation in take off in terms of the pace and distance of the ball. In the latter part of the session the goalkeepers also work on their punching techniques.
