Lightning Fashions (1922)

No title. c 1922 Woman in a boudoir setting (bearskin rug on the floor) is helped on to a box by a man in tails. The woman stands on the box in her underwear and puts her hands above her head. The man bows. He pulls out a large swathe of fabric and proceeds to wrap the woman in it - creating an outfit in a very short space of time. He folds, tucks and pins the fabric with exaggerated magician like movements. When he has woven his magic, the girl does a turn to show the elaborately draped outfit - he bows to the camera. “Only 90 seconds, girls, - can you beat it? And few ladies can resist the next.“ Another outfit is created in the same manner. This time it is a bridal outfit with a very elaborate muff-type-thing! C/U of a line of sheet music - “Here comes the bride“ I presume. L/S of the outfit. Note: the designer is probably M. Alphonse Berg who is seen in two other film on the same theme “A While You Wait Frock“ and “M’Lady’s Dress - While She Waits“ this seems to have been a popular the
