Three years ago he suffered a traumatic workplace accident as sanitation worker. As a result, he lost all of the toes on his right foot. A combination of his occupation and the accident have led to very thick calluses, and dry cracked skin on his feet. He also describes his experiences with phantom pain, depression, and PTSD that often accompanies amputations.
