Excavation (1957)

St Albans, Hertfordshire. L/S of some tents in a field, a group of people walk along and pick up various tools. M/S of people picking up shovels, C/U of hands grabbing handles. The narrator tells us these people are volunteers who are helping to excavate the site of a Roman town. This is their last chance to gather information because the site is going to be filled in to make a new road. L/S of the site all dug up with various people working on it, the camera pans across to show people digging. M/S of some people in a big trench digging and putting the earth in buckets.
