Summer Recording Workshop sings “She’s Leaving Home“ by The Beatles

Each summer, Community Chorus Project runs the Summer Recording Workshop for 35 high-school singers from Chapel Hill, NC. Summer 2014, they recorded this version of “She’s Leaving Home“ by The Beatles, (written by Lennon/McCartney), at the University of North Carolina. Seamus Kenney, a public school teacher at Smith Middle School in Chapel Hill conducts the chorus and created this arrangement. The soloists are Rory Zak and Emily Aleman. Musicians on the track are Oberlin music student, Elijah Fox-Peck, 15-year-old drummer, Avery Logan and bassist, Casey Toll. Chris Stamey of the dB’s engineered and mixed the song. Community Chorus Project, founded by Lauren Bromley Hodge, offers the week-long program each summer for young singers in collaberation with the Department of Music at UNC at Chapel Hill.
