Dedicated to Victory Day: Dmitry Shostakovich. Symphony № 7 in C Major (Leningrad)

Celebrating the 76th Anniversary of the Victory over Nazism in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, we’d like to share with you the music which is strongly associated with the heroic struggle of the Soviet people and especially of the city of Leningrad: Symphony № 7 by Dmitry Shostakovich. On May 9, at 3:00 PM MSK (UTC 3) we will show it performed by the Mariinsky orchestra under Valery Gergiev (the video recording of the live stream from the Mariinsky-2 on January 27, 2020). This year, the Mariinsky orchestra celebrates Victory Day on tour of the Easter Festival, giving the concerts today. May 8, in Bryansk, and tomorrow, May 9, in Moscow.
