I’d say as far as guitar music in gaming, it transcends even the titan that is Xenoblade Chronicles itself. I’ve had more than a handful of students come to me with this song wanting to learn it, so I’ve known how to play it for so long, but I’ve always felt weird about covering songs that are already metal. With the Definitive Edition of Xenoblade Chronicles just releasing though, there feels like there will hardly be a better time to take on this classic though. I’ve really enjoyed doing the last few Xenoblade songs since it’s nice to cover music actually designed to be played on a guitar, but I always seem to struggle to arrange these songs differently since it always seems to take away from the feel of the original. I really tried my best to replicate the original sound while also intertwining my own style into this one. Still with how much work I put into selecting subtle string and synth parts and layers along with writing a quick original solo after doing my best to cover the original, this cover came together really quick and was a lot of fun!
