SUBTITLES: русский, English PLOT Once upon a time, in the 1920s, three comrades lived in the outskirts of Moscow: Sashka - “Cat Master“, Borka - “Сhizh“ or “Chizhik“ (siskin) and Vaska - “Turkey-Cock“ or “Capitan“. 30 years have passed. Sashka has become the professor, livestock breeder Alexandr Lapin, Chizh - the famous surgeon Boris Chizhov, and Vaska - the academician of architecture Vasily Nestratov working on the construction of the famous “Stalin’s high-rises“ in Moscow. Remembering the oath given to each other, the three friends set off on a voyage down a wide and long river on a raft toward many adventures, mostly amusing. TIME AND LOCATIONS The film was shot in summer and autumn of 1953 and had its premiere on 2 April 1954. The shooting took place on the Oka River, near Tarusa, and then on the Don, near Rostov.
