VISION-S | 5G Remote Driving Test Connecting Tokyo and Germany

Japanese Below: Sony Group Corporation and Vodafone Germany conducted a remote driving test using the VISION-S Prototype on a test course in Aldenhoven, Germany, to explore the possibility of a new mobility experience in the 5G environment. In this driving test connecting Tokyo and Germany, video and control signals were transmitted to the remote location with low latency using the telematics system installed in VISION-S in Germany, and demonstrated smooth vehicle operation from Tokyo. ソニーグループとVodafone Germanyは、5G環境下での新たな移動体験の可能性を追求する為、VISION-S によるリモート運転試験をドイツのアルデンホーフェンにあるテストコースで実施しました。 東京とドイツをつないだ今回の運転試験では、ドイツにあるVISION-S に搭載されたテレマティクスシステムを用いて映像・制御信号を低遅延で遠隔地へ伝送し、東京からのスムーズな車両操作を実証しました。
