Pitchfork Music Festival 2011 Preview: Chrissy Murderbot, Part 1 Of 3
Chicago’s own Chrissy Murderbot will be representing his (adopted) hometown at the upcoming Pitchfork Music Festival 2011, so being based in the Big Windy ourselves, we figured we’d take the opportunity to talk with the DJ / Producer / Label Head before the festival. Because Pitchfork changes folks. And we wanted the real Chrissy Murderbot. You know, before he suffers heat exhaustion.
Mr. Murderbot has been making electronic-based dance music for the past fifteen or so years. We asked him about how his producorial toolkit has changed over the years, and he shared with us how dance music sub-genre tribalism has shifted over that period as well.
