May Day

Streaming everywhere - May 1/2024 About 25 years ago, Andrew Collins and I (Chris Coole) spent a lovely May the first on the shores of Belmont Lake. We spent the day doing hippie things - picking, singing, and generally communing with nature (especially the mycorrhizal network.) At some point during the day, we wrote a tune that has sort of been haunting me ever since. I’ve now recorded it three times, each with a very different setting (May Day #1 and #2 are on my album Tumbling River). For this third time, John Showman and I teamed up with The Andrew Collins Trio, which includes James Mceleney (bass), and Adam Shier (guitar).
