✨ We’re not doing any worksheets in class. ✨ Yes, I design them for home learning, but we never just draw or write on them. Why? They are simply not engaging enough to make them achieve any ✨real learning✨ if they only fill them up mechanically. The children have them in all of the school textbooks. They often sit in school and in many cases - spend classes filling the textbook and the workbooks, with a few speaking or pair work tasks thrown in between. Yes, there are AMAZING teachers who do AMAZING stuff in their face to face classrooms, but unfortunately my students haven’t had many of those experiences. I don’t want to repeat the things they already do in school so… 💥I do this instead: 1️⃣ We dramatize, act out, create problematic situations where the kids need to help me do something with that worksheet. 2️⃣ We add them to our game world so the children can walk with their avatar in the 3D game world and fill them in as a game. They don’t even feel them as bothersome or see them as worksheets any longer. 3️⃣ Add them to the interactive clickable materials and completely redesign the format (if there was some kind of circling, now you have to move the whole item, etc.) 4️⃣ Put them to my classroom website with all the materials organized in the thematical units so parents can print out and use at home for further learning.
