Despite Enlil’s defiance, Marduk marries an Earthling woman. As celestial disturbances and climate changes affect Lahmu, the lgigi descend to Earth, taking Earthling women as wives. Enki fathers a human son, Ziusudra. Amid Earth’s suffering from droughts and pestilences, the Anunnaki begin returning to Nibiru. Enlil resolves to let Mankind perish, but Enki and Ninmah work to preserve Earth’s Seeds of Life. As the Day of the Deluge approaches, Nergal is assigned to issue a warning.
