Just before caronavirus restrictions were imposed and we were advised to keep ’social distancing’, we had a magical two hours of beautiful music with Andre Rieu and his talented Orchestra. Famously dubbed the “King of Waltz”, André Rieu first picked up the violin at just five years old, went on to form his own orchestra and has sold more than 35 million records to date. Married to Marjorie with two sons, the couple live in a 15th-century castle in Maastricht, Holland. André Rieu and his orchestra have turned classical and waltz music into a worldwide concert touring act, as successful as some of the biggest global pop and rock music acts.
