Boney M.: Gotta Go Home/No Time To Lose (The Marek Mixes) [Super Sound Single] (1979)

Another re-imagined maxi single set from Marek, this time of Boney M.’s last proper major hit single Gotta Go Home, a rework of German band Nighttrain’s 1972 single Hallo Bimmelbahn, set to a stomping disco beat, with its irresistible “woo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo“ riff, sung by producer Frank Farian while Liz and Marcia shared the lead vocal duties in unison on the verse. While the real single was coupled with the story of El Lute, this fictitional set chooses the B-side No Time To Lose (which was the actual B-side of Gotta Go Home in Brazil), a funky number from the Oceans Of Fantasy on which Marcia Barrett sang the lead vocal. Marek has stretched his imagination again to make both tracks looong while still keeping them exciting, and creating two adventurous dub mixes as well.
