The Conquest Of The Air (1928)

Full titles read: “The Conquest of the Air - Amateur enthusiasts... and of no mean ability... demonstrate models of their own make and design...“ Wimbledon, London. Various shots show several men standing in a field, twiddling the propellors of their model aeroplanes (I am informed by Howard that they do this to wind the elastic band inside the plane, that makes the propellor go round when it is let go). They each have a go at flying them as a small crowd watches. Intertitle reads: “...whilst their professional “brothers of the sky“ demonstrate latest wonders in aerial acrobatics.“ L/Ss of several (real) biplanes flying through air, doing loop-the-loops and other tricks. Good M/S of a biplane in flight. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV. IT’S FULL OF GREAT DOCUMENTARIES, FASCINATING INTERVIEWS, AND CLASSIC MOVIES.
