Woke up in central Minnesota and had to make a decision last minute to either go for the uncertain KS tornado setup or the potential Canadian mothership setup. Both were about a 9-hour drive, and both had their pros and cons. In the end, I was liking Canada better since it seemed like a more sure-fire target for storms to develop, plus with Andrew Studer “Space To Roam” project slow-moving photogenic storms were exactly what we were after.
And boy…did Canada deliver!
5 and half hours of non-stop gorgeous supercell action with beautiful landscape and a near-perfect road network good friends. Couldn’t ask for a better chase!
For those of you wondering what the deal was with the guy in the space suit, Andrew Studer is working on a passion project called “Space to Roam”.
