The delightful Hugh Laurie wins the fourth Golden Mouth Organ Award, March 2, 2011, with his rendition of “Oh Susanna“. Previous recipients were Billy Connolly, David Pogue, and Jennifer Ouellette (“Home Sweet Home“).
Although Katy Couric played a recognizable version of “Shenandoah“, her appearance came before the award was introduced.
In Britain, “Oh Susanna“ must be the representative harmonica tune, as both Laurie and Connolly chose it for the competition. LOL!
IMO, the most deserving recipient had to be Pogue, for his excellent rendition of the “Ode To Joy“, a choice which was both surprising and exceptionally well executed! :D
