Joe Pass - Paint It Black

The Stones Jazz (1966) - Track 8 Another of Joe’s obscure records from the early ’60s. Here Joe goes through a whole set of uninspired Rolling Stones covers :) Another historical curiosity. Sometimes the obscure tracks are the most fun!... I wonder if Joe was rolling his eyes through the whole session. “Paint It Black“ is probably the highlight of the album.. there are some moments of inspired brilliance. Joe Pass (guitar), Bill Perkins (tenor sax), plus a bunch of unidentified session musicians.
