A magnitude 4.8 earthquake shook the northeastern United States on Friday morning.
The tremors occurred at 10:23 local time.
The epicenter was located at a depth of 4 km, 6 km from the city of Lebanon in New Jersey, 65 km west of New York.
The tremors were felt along the entire East Coast, including the New York metropolitan area.
The earthquake was also felt in the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
Later, several aftershocks were recorded.
On social networks, eyewitnesses share footage of the natural disaster.
Furniture shook in the houses and objects fell from shelves.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
This is one of the largest earthquakes to hit the East Coast in the last century.
An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 was recorded in New York in 1884.
