IRISH DANCE - LIFT OUTS - Drills

One of my favourites - A long, rolling leg lift! Here’s a short session with 3 drills to help you with your technique. Wow, some of these are tough! Lots to think about: - Your posture. How are you holding yourself? Try lifting your leg out at different heights & take notice of when you’re maybe trying to lift too high. - Be mindful of your back knee! I know these lifts are tough but try your very best to keep your back leg as straight as you can. This will also help with your posture! - There is a nice rolling action to these lifts. Your goal is to make them flow. - Control your leg not only on the way up but on the way down. As always it’s great to try these on the spot drills in front of a mirror or record yourself to increase your awareness. Good luck dancers. Feel the burn & enjoy this session. Remember that you’re aiming for progress, not perfection. I’ll see you in my next video, Lauren xx Why not check out my academy Music written by the talented Mohsen Amini - ’The Light of Day.’
