Men at work, machinery, rockface etc. “But reaching the ground.“ M/S of a man pressing the plunger on a detonator. L/S of explosion and crumbling rocks. L/S showing man standing beside large granite boulders. “Splitting the huge blocks is a job for steel drills and wedges - (and the muscles of the granite men).“ M/S of two workers standing on top of a block of granite drilling into it with hand drills. The men place pins into the holes in the granite. L/S of four men standing around the block as one hammers the pins in. The men then use metal poles to lever the block apart. The pins presumably weaken the granite.
