NCU - National Cyclists (or Cycling) Union Starter’s gun fires and a cyclist sets off around the banked track of the Herne Hill cyclo-drome. He makes several laps. This may well be a pursuit race. Crowds are standing watching the racing. Tandem sprint - two tandems race around the track. Bunch race - a large group of cyclists start from the far side of the track. The bell is rung to denote the start of the last lap and the cyclists speed up for a sprint. M/S Politician J H (James Henry) Thomas (Colonial Secretary in the National Government) with other men.
