Eus

One of the most beautiful villages in France - ’Les Plus Beaux Villages de France’ - Eus (Pyrénées Orientales, Languedoc-Roussillon, South of France) is an ancient defensive site built on terraces in the garrigue between the Conflent valley and Mount Canigou, and was called on to force back the French in the 16th century and the Spanish army in the 18th. An interesting artist - Don Ley - lives in the village where he displays his paintings and cartoons. We visited on Thursday 21st June 2012 - and highly recommend it.
