In this video, Ashley introduces Riedon SSA smart current sensors and Eaton HS series super capacitors. Riedon SSA smart current sensors take the place of standard shunt sensors and offer an amplified analog output with isolation of 1500VDC. Nominal current options are available from 100A to 1000A, with maximum device current handling at two times nominal current. Onboard circuitry requires either 3V at 20mA or at 40mA to operate. The Riedon smart current sensor is more compact and more accurate than traditional closed-loop Hall Effect transducers with a response time. High power HS series hybrid Supercapacitors from Eaton include two electrodes created from a proprietary mix of materials that enable them to achieve energy densities that are up to 10 times higher than standard supercapacitors of the same size.
