This is one of my favorite steel guitar tunes: “Drowsy Waters,” recorded by Jerry Byrd in 1949 on non-pedal steel in C6 tuning. This was the B-side to his hit record and steel standard, “Steelin’ The Blues.” This is dedicated to Stella, The Western Elstons’ official tip-jar passer at Simon’s Tavern, who always wants to hear a waltz to dance to. Well I finally learned one for you to play when the time is right for an Elstons show.
