He received his LL.B., LL.M., and Ph.D. from Seoul National University. He taught as a Post-Doc/Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Tuebingen, Germany (as a part of “Teach@Tuebingen“ Program) (2014-2015) and also at the . (2014). He was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Freiburg, Germany (2010- 2012), receiving a competitive scholarship from the President of the . and in 2009 he was a Researcher at the Bureau of Statutory Interpretation and Information of the Ministry of Government Legislation, Korea. His main research fields are Constitutional Law, Law and Religion and Comparative Law.
