Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.“ One of the favourite and most iconic films of my childhood. Whilst this film does have its inaccuracies, Emperor Commodus really did use to fight opponents and cheatingly wound them before the fight began. In the end, after making several enemies amongst himself, Commodus was assassinated in AD192 by a wrestler in his own bath.
