জগন্নাথ, সুভদ্রা, বলরাম পুরীর কথা বলতেই প্রথমে মনে আসে জগন্নাথ দেবের মন্দির, আর বিশাল রথযাত্রা উৎসব। জগন্নাথ (অর্থাৎ, “জগতের নাথ“ বা “জগতের প্রভু“) হলেন একজন হিন্দু দেবতা। ভারতের ওড়িশা, ছত্তীসগঢ় (বস্তার অঞ্চল), পশ্চিমবঙ্গ, ঝাড়খণ্ড, বিহার, অসম, মণিপুর ও ত্রিপুরা রাজ্যে এবং বাংলাদেশে তার পূজা প্রচলিত। জগন্নাথ হলেন হিন্দু দেবতা বিষ্ণু বা তার অবতার কৃষ্ণের একটি বিশেষ রূপ। তাকে তার দাদা বলরাম ও  বোন সুভদ্রার সঙ্গে পূজা করা হয়। জগন্নাথের মূর্তি সাধারণত কাঠে তৈরি করা হয়। এই মূর্তির চোখদুটি বড়ো বড়ো ও গোলাকার। হাত অসম্পূর্ণ। মূর্তিতে কোনো পা দেখা যায় না। জগন্নাথের পূজাপদ্ধতিও অন্যান্য হিন্দু দেবতাদের পূজাপদ্ধতির চেয়ে আলাদা। ওড়িশা রাজ্যের পুরী শহরে জগন্নাথের প্রধান মন্দিরটি অবস্থিত। এই মন্দির হিন্দুধর্মের চারধামের অন্যতম। Jagannath (Sanskrit: जगन्नाथ, ISO: Jagannātha; lit. ’’lord of the universe’’) is a deity worshipped in regional traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism in India and Bangladesh. Jagannath is considered a form of Vishnu. He is part of a triad along with his brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra.
