A Sure Footing (1931)

A woman dances on a high wire suspended 300 feet in the air. M/S of woman walking on the tightrope holding a parasol. Large skyscrapers seen in the background - looks like an American city - possibly New York. Woman wears a white fur trimmed outfit - similar to an ice-skating outfit. She walks backwards and forwards on the wire, holding her skirt out. “One false step - and it’s the last.“ High angle shot of the woman, city streets seen below. She balances on one leg. She wobbles as if there is a danger of her falling off the wire. She then does a bit of a dance on the wire, flicking her skirts around. “You’ve heard of the straight and narrow path? Well, this must be it.“ High angle shot of her on the wire - skyscrapers in the background. She does some high kicks and balances on one leg. She grabs her ankle and stretches her leg out, pretty impressive. Was an item in Eve’s Film Review issue number 509. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITIS
