JAPAN’S FUKUSHIMA LIES

China has banned the import of all marine products from Japan after nuclear-contaminated waste water from the Fukushima nuclear plant began to be released into the Pacific Ocean last Thursday. Western media has provided some useful balance when it comes to highlighting possible dangers around the release, as well as public uproar in Japan itself as well as South Korea, but they largely revert to anti-China tropes when discussing Beijing’s banning of aquatic products from Japan. Today we’ll look at three main points: 1) Can Fukushima’s nuclear contaminated waste water be compared to water being released in China or anywhere else in the world? 2) What is “tritium” and why is Japan playing it up? And 3) What is the real danger? We’ll also look at Japanese media tricks, BBC mental gymnastics, and why Chinese people are so concerned about food safety. It’s going to be a long video, but I hope you stick around until the end! This is Reports on China, I’m Andy Boreham in Shanghai. Let’s get reporting. #fukushima #china #japan #安柏然
