Moving JUICE to the Large Space Simulator (time-lapse)

The European Test Services (ETS) is located at the ESA / ESTEC site in the Netherlands. ETS operates the Large Space Simulator (LSS), the largest of its kind in Europe where the conditions in space can be mimicked, as well as the beam of the sun as seen from different distances in the Solar System. During a two day operation JUICE was moved from the clean room to the LSS at the end of May 2021, where it is being prepared for a one month in-space simulation. It will be the closest JUICE gets to being in space while still on Earth! The JUICE team will perform extensive tests in terms of the thermal behaviour of all spacecraft and all the systems under space like conditions. Busy times!
