According to local media reports, on the afternoon of May 7th, Dongguan experienced strong thunderstorms, accompanied by wind gusts of level 8 to 9, with some areas experiencing level 10 to 11. Five towns recorded more than 50 millimeters of precipitation, with the largest amount in Shatian at 63.9 millimeters and 30 millimeters of precipitation recorded in 10 minutes. Netizens joked that it was not raining but pouring water. The highest gust was 31.4 meters/second, level 11, in Songshan Lake.
