David Bowie & The Spiders From Mars w/ Jeff Beck: The Jean Genie/Love Me Do (London - 3, July 1973)

On the final show of Bowie and the Spiders’ two nights at London’s Hammersmith Odeon (which also turned out to be the final proper Ziggy concert), David was keen to bring out legendary guitarist Jeff Beck to sit in on a couple tunes - Chuck Berry’s Around and Around (complete with a Talk Box solo by Beck) plus a wild romp through The Jean Genie with a touch of the Beatles’ Love Me Do. Both numbers were filmed and included as part of the original iteration of DA Pennebaker’s document of the show when aired on US ABC’s In Concert program in 1974 (titled as A London Show when aired in Italy).
