Tess (1979)

Tess is a 1975 Anglo-French romantic drama film. It features Nastassja Kinski, Peter Firth, Leigh Lawson, and John Collin A film adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s classic 1891 tale, Tess of the d’Urbervilles. A strong-willed peasant girl is sent by her father to the estate of some local aristocrats to capitalise on a rumour that their families are from the same line.
