Friday Walk in Stockholm, Sweden 🇸🇪 スウェーデン、ストックホルムの金曜日の散歩 🇸🇪 Paseo del viernes en Estocolmo, Suecia

My Walk Through Stockholm I began my delightful journey in Stockholm at Nybrokajen (Newbridge Quay). This historic quay is not just a beautiful waterfront spot but also a vital part of the city’s maritime heritage. Historically, it has been a significant hub for ferries and boats navigating the archipelago, making it an essential starting point for exploring the waters surrounding Stockholm. From there, I strolled over to Nybrohamnen (Newbridge Harbor). This harbor is known for its picturesque views and the bustling activity of boats. Interestingly, Nybrohamnen has been a key part of Stockholm’s trade and transportation network since the 19th century, contributing greatly to the city’s development. Next, I found myself at Nybroplan (New Bridge Square). This lively square serves as a central hub connecting several major streets and is a perfect spot for people-watching. Nybroplan is also known for its proximity to several cultural landmarks, making it a vibrant and bustling part of the city. Continuing my walk, I arrived at the majestic Kungliga Dramatiska Teatern (The Royal Dramatic Theatre). Established in 1788, this iconic theatre is Sweden’s national stage for “spoken drama“. It’s renowned for its stunning Art Nouveau architecture, designed by architect Fredrik Lilljekvist. Over the years, it has hosted countless performances by some of Sweden’s most famous actors, including the legendary Greta Garbo. After admiring the theatre, I decided to take in the views from Dramatenterrassen (The Royal Dramatic Theatre Rooftop Bar). This spot offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and is a popular place to relax and enjoy a drink. The terrace provides a unique vantage point to appreciate Stockholm’s blend of historic and modern architecture. Following this, I walked down Strandvägen (Beach Road). This grand boulevard is often considered one of the most beautiful streets in Stockholm. Lined with elegant buildings and lush trees, Strandvägen offers stunning views of the waterfront and is a favorite promenade for both locals and tourists. My journey ended at Djurgårdsbron (Royal Game Park Bridge), the bridge connecting the mainland to Djurgården island. This beautiful bridge, adorned with statues and intricate details, serves as the gateway to one of Stockholm’s most beloved recreational areas. Djurgården is home to several museums, parks, and historical sites, making Djurgårdsbron a perfect end to my walk through this enchanting city.
