It turned into a really intense piece of expression for me, the original bowed strings just grabbed me and did that thing music sometimes does when powerful feelings start to flow. So I tried to capture that in my remixing process and just build on that feeling I was finding in the original, with lots of layers of synthesis and noise. The final peak comes with an interesting sub bass artefact too, as far as I can tell what’s happening is the bass notes are interfering and yielding some even lower frequency beating, which I’m getting here via the subpac as some crazy torso massage. If you have the opportunity to try it on a big system with a good low-end response I’d recommend it. I’ve also been experimenting with how to incorporate the remix into my visuals, and I found that the old Emptyset project with the fractal master
