A retrospective review of MumboJumbo’s 2001 real-time tactical fantasy prequel, which was published by Gathering of Developers and followed on from Bungie’s Myth: The Fallen Lords and Myth II: Soulblighter. Covers the history of the game’s development, starting with how and why Bungie forfeited their rights to the series, how MumboJumbo became involved, Myth III’s troubled development, and finally the backlash and aftermath of its release. Then discusses the gameplay, art and sound design, how to play it today, and the game’s story.
