LITERALLY! This flat tire is the first and only issue this old beast has given me that made it so I can’t use the machine (it definitely has LOTS of other issues). Today’s plan is to get that fixed and then we’ll start making a plan to start fixing everything else this this old machine needs! While I was working on it, a friend called and asked for help getting his truck and trailer unstuck from down in the woods, so I jumped into the International Service Truck and headed over to help pull him out! A little about this Rare old Wheel Loader Forklift: This is a late 60’s / early 70’s Clark (Michigan) 35 AWS Forklift built on the Michigan 35 AWS Wheel Loader / Shovel platform. It’s Clark data plate rates it’s max lift as 5000lbs, but i am pretty sure I have already surpassed that by quite a bit. It has All Wheel Steer that doesn’t work very well and gets off track pretty easily, so I keep it in 2 wheel steer. It should have 4 wheel drive all the time, but I think there might be an issue with that as well. This beast is powered by a Perkins Diesel engine that’s as loyal as the day is long! It starts up EVERY time, smokes quite a bit of white when at first, but runs great otherwise. I think the injection pump and injectors need to be gone through at some point, we’ll have to see! It has air over hydraulic brakes that of course don’t work, with an engine powered air compressor and an on board air horn with a foot button that DOES work & is AWESOME. This thing is rollin on 14x24“ tires and has ground clearance for DAYS!! Which makes it easy to take this unique forklift just about ANYWHERE, and I have been putting that to the TEST ever since i rescued this old beast!! So sit back, put on your couch mechanic hat, let me know your thoughts in the comments(YES I read them!), & join me as we get this old beast ROLLING again! I promise you’ll enjoy, and I appreciate that you’ve decided to stop here at Salvage Workshop! Please enjoy! I know I did! ~ If you have any suggestions, questions, or comments, please leave them below! Thanks for stopping by, I truly appreciate your support! #equipmentrepair #recoverey #SalvageWorkshop
