Late Minute Theatrics! - Wrexham v Crewe Match Highlights feat. Mark Griffiths commentary

SPOILERS Wrexham host Crewe Alexandra at a soggy Cae Ras. Wrexham looked to have some lingering issue from the Stockport game in the first 20 minutes, but began to take control, but not before Crewe struck first in the 24’. Making matters worse, Ryan Barnett is sent off in the 35’. But not 10 minutes later, Super Paul Mullin gets his first goal of the season and equalizes with an overhead kick off a short headed cross by Aaron Hayden. Luck would not be on the Reds’ side though as a clumsy defensive stand by James McClean gives a penalty to Crewe just before HT. The second half starts on a much better note for Wrexham as they come roaring straight out of the gate. Not two minutes in and Ollie Palmer chests down a ball to Mullin who smashes it in to equalize again. Wrexham’s defense has a flashback to the Stockport game in the 65’ and concede a 3rd to Crewe. But this would not dampen Wrexham’s efforts and for the remaining 30 minutes were relentless in making chances despite being down a man. Two calls for penalties were ignored by the ref and several great chances left Wrexham wanting. But in the 5’ of added time, Mendy floated in a dangerous ball to the back post and Steven Fletcher headed it home with is first goal for Wrexham, and down to 10-men the Red Dragons earn a last minute point.
