A magnitude 5.8 quake struck on Sunday evening in Taiwan, the Taiwan Seismological Survey said. Tremors were recorded at 22:11 local time, from the epicenter was on the east coast, 19 km from the city of Hualien, and the focus lay at a depth of 15 km. Three minutes later, this was followed by another, more powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 with an epicenter in the same area.
