Robert Schumann - Symphony No. 1 in B flat major “Spring“ Op. 38 (1841) Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Wilhelm Furtwängler Live Recording, Munich, October 29, 1951 1. First Movement - Andante un poco maestoso - Allegro molto vivace 10:56 2. Second Movement - Larghetto 06:40 3. Third Movement - Scherzo: Molto vivace - Trio I: Molto piu vivace - Trio II 06:21 4. Fourth Movement - Allegro animato e grazioso 09:46 Comparison between original and remastered audio here - Restoration notes - The “Spring“ symphony came from a rather poor sounding source with the equalisation being very sharp and thin. However, by matching the frequencies to a modern recording of the work I was able to unearth a rich and full sound. Naturally, it isn’t perfect, but it’s a vast improvement over the original. Audio Restored and Remastered by Rudolf Ondrich, 12-13 October 2012.
